Omelets

Tate and I went for a “Birthday Breakfast” on Sunday morning.  We both had the Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes at IHOP, and they were heavenly! The guy sitting in the booth next to us had what looked like the yummiest omelet I have EVER seen. Since then, I have been craving one. Zach is the egg/omelet maker in our house so I have never even attempted to make one;  I was thinking… “how hard can it be”?  First I had to convince  Tate (who does not eat eggs because “they come from a chicken’s butt”) that it was going to be so delicious that he would forget it was even an egg!  I was sooooooo right!  It wasn’t aesthetically  perfect, but it WAS flipped and after his first bite he said it was the best egg he has ever had, and that with a little more practice it would (look) better!  LOL  Bode said that his was very good but that he didn’t like the way it smelled! (His was a little more brown than it should’ve been.) Then after two “practices”,  mine turned out PERFECT!!!  The boys were very jealous of how beautiful mine looked!  Bode said, “I bet you made yours pretty because you were going to eat it!”, as if I didn’t try to make his pretty. HA!
I really should’ve taken a picture, but since the boys were already upset that mine was prettier than theirs, I thought it might be a bit much to drag out the camera and start taking pictures of it!  LOL

Just read a great way to make omlettes. Put two beat up eggs in a ziplock baggie and add all your goodies to it. Squeeze all the air out and boil in a pan of water for 13 minutes. I'm going to try it. Sounds fast and fun!!!
